Marco?.... Polo!

This:

Plus this:

Equals where I have been for the past three days.

We took a mini/weekend vacation to the swimming pool....aka...my parent's house.....where we refused to get out........unless we had to...well...you know...('cause doing that in the pool is just gross!).
We did take a two hour break from the lounging in the pool to go see 'The Hangover'. Pretty funny movie...definitely hits home why "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas."

It is a movie that if you get bored....go see it in theaters but you can always wait until it comes out on DVD.
Now, back on dry land, there is laundry to fold, dishes to wash, and tivo to get caught up on.
Hope my 'sea legs' settle down.

Surf's Up!

Ok...so, not so much surf's up.....but, I guess you could say...Pool's Up! Big C is LOVING the pool! It doesn't matter if it is Grammy and Papa's big pool...or...our little inflatable pool. When baby's happy, Mama's happy! (Mama's also a little light headed after blowing up the pool!)

When did Big C become a little boy?!

"Bam! Bam!" "Splash! Splash!" (Don't worry...even though he was in the shade, I still put sun screen on him. Look at how blonde his hair is getting!

An after 'swimming' snack while watching Handy Mandy..."Up, Up Jump in...Come on let's go!"

See you pool side!

They Call Me...Mini-Pizza!

I stole this idea from my sister. She has told me that she makes mini-pizzas similar to how I make meat cupcakes. So, today I had to try it out! Here is what you need to get started: 1 can of Pillsbury rolls, marinara sauce, and what ever toppings you like on your pizza.

If you are using any meat (we used hamburger) brown and season the meat first thing while the oven is warming up to a toasty 450 degrees.

Use a non-stick pan, cooking spray, or butter to ensure that your 'pizzas' don't stick. Spread each of the rolls out so that they are stretched flat, then add marinara sauce and whatever toppings you want on your pizza. WAIT TO ADD THE CHEESE!!
Cook the pizzas in the oven for 10 minutes at 450 degrees. Then, add cheese if you want. Bake again until cheese has melted all the way.

I served the mini pizzas with peas and peaches.

I think that for our next get together with friends, these beauties will be making an appearance!

Separation = Divorce

People magazine came out with this issue last month:

If you watched the show, listen to the radio, check the Internet...you know that "might" actually turned into reality. On the show, Jon said that they have separated. However, a few hours before the show aired, Kate officially filed for divorce in their home state of Pennsylvania. Kate said "Over the course of this weekend, Jon's actions left me no other choice not to."

So, apparently, in Jon's eyes...separation does equal divorce.

Jon isn't sticking around, that's for sure. My sources....heehee, I've always wanted to say that!....say that he is shopping around for apartments in New York. Geesh, he sure is making his kids a priority! Living in a completely different state!

Don't expect to get a glimpse into their lives anytime soon from their reality show. It is now on 'hiatus' until August.

We'll just wait and see what happens when all of this money runs out...

Best Daddy Eva!

Happy Father's Day to the best Daddy ever!!! (I'm also not forgetting to add best husband ever too!)

We love you so much and are so thankful for you!

Are you ready for the big announcement?

Jon and Kate Gosselin are announcing some big news this evening on their show that will hopefully bring them "peace" and that are "life changing" decisions. Much rumor and speculation is that they will be announcing their divorce. Which, in my opinion is a sick ploy by TLC to improve show ratings...however, even more sad is that Jon and Kate are continuing on with this, playing along and not even thinking about the mental and emotional well being of their 8 children.

With that being said.....
I will be watching.

Living Room New 'do!

We decided to get the carpet ripped out of our living room and entry-way and replace it with hardwood laminate to match what we already had in the dining room. I was a little uneasy about living with the house being so disorganized, but it was only for 24 hours and well worth it. We did hire a private contract to do it... you didn't think that Curt and I would do it did you? HA!
To see the before pictures of our living, you can view the post from Memorial day when I decided to rearrange the furniture.
Our living room furniture was in our dinning room, our dinning room was in our kitchen.

Yep...just cement under the carpet..

The AFTER!!
The flooring continued from our living room into our entryway making it look so good and big!

We also got rid of the mammoth entertainment center and got a small TV stand along with a new area rug.

Oh, and yes...the hubby did put it together and it still works!! I took pictures to prove that he put it together too. Normally, it is I who does the home improvements while he ...ugh....does not.
But...it's still standing!!!

Surprise Date Night

Last night, the hubby surprised me with a date night! He had the whole night planned, even a babysitter for Big C. Now, parents of kids, even parents of four legged kids, you know how hard it can be during the week to find a few moments to yourself, let alone a whole evening. This was so special to me! However, if you know me, you know that I don't deal with secrets very well...that is, if the secret is kept from me. So, in true Lindsay fashion, I had to badger him about where we were going and what we were going to do. After leaving Big C with the babysitters...aka...Curt's parents...we headed off into the 'sunset' to eat dinner at......

CHEESEBURGER IN PARADISE!!

We love this place! Both Curt and I love the food, drinks, and atmosphere of this place. We love to get a group of friends together and hang out here. Of course, it was also nice that it was just the two of us also. On the way to dinner, I continued to badger him about where we were going afterwards. I was convinced that we were going to see the movie "The Hangover." Which, I was kinda excited to go see. (Has anyone seen it? What did you think of it? I heard that it was hysterical!) Exasperated Curt reached under the seat, pulled out a big envelope, and handed it to me.
I got super excited...FINALLY... I was going to know what we were doing! As I opened it, I took a peak inside and saw that it was two tickets for....

I can not begin to tell you how excited I was!!! I think at one point, I even started to tear up! I had wanted to see Wicked in the past after reading the book, but the timing just never worked out before. Then, I didn't want to make Curt...aka....jock extraordinaire...sit through a musical...especially with as little leg room that most theaters have. My hubby threw all of that out of the window and got tickets for me!

I have to say, Wicked the musical was FABULOUS!!!! It captured my attention from the beginning when the flying monkeys were dancing on the stage, to Glinda's blonde comments, to Elphaba's green skin...amazing. Even jock boy liked it too! If you ever have a chance to go see it, I would highly suggest it!

It was a great evening, with even better company.

Yet, another reason why I have fallen in love with my husband all over again!

True or False?

This girl paid a tattoo artist $55 for three star tattoos on her face. During the session, she allegedly fell asleep and the tattoo artist got star happy and ended up creating about 56 stars. (Less than $1 per tat.)

True or False?

However, the tattoo artist claims that she was awake during the whole process and was constantly looking in the mirror. The trouble is stated to have started when she went home and her father and brother saw the constellations on her face.

Having never gotten a tattoo, I am not sure of the extent of the pain. BUT, I have given birth naturally and let's just say...it is nothing that I could have slept through!

So..true story? or false story?

Holey Guacamole!

I've noticed that I haven't posted a recipe in awhile. Now, that doesn't mean that we haven't been eating...the scale will prove otherwise! I actually have been making a lot of guacamole, even if I am the only on to eat it. It is super easy, quick, and most of all satisfying.

Only a few ingredients: avocados, tomatoes, salt, lemon juice, and chips. HOLD UP! Have you ever had the "Hint of Lime" chips?! OH MY!! This are so good. If you thought chips were addicting before, you shouldn't try these...or should you? I think from now on, I will ONLY buy these!

The ingredient line up:
Cut the avocados in half. The HUGE seed/pit inside is really easy to get out, especially if your hand eye coordination is good...if not, let some one else do it. Take your knife and whack it down onto the pit. Then turn your knife, pull up, and the pit should come with it. After that, use a spoon to scrape out the good stuff.
Next, dice your tomatoes and add. (Aren't the colors so pretty! It's like a party in a bowl!)

Squirt a little bit of lemon or even lime juice in it...I use half a lemon. Don't forget to add a pinch of salt. Sometimes I get crazy and add garlic...on my wild nights.

Finally, mix it all together. I like my guacamole a little chunky, so I don't mix it all the way. I love it so much, that IF there are any left overs...doubt it...that it will be my lunch tomorrow.

It's like a little fiesta on every chip!

Livin' In The Bathroom

This week on .....

Bathrooms! The place where you do the 3 S's....S**t, Shower, and Shave!
I'll share just one of my bathrooms...the one that I NEED HELP on. A few months ago, I redid two of our three bathrooms in ONE DAY while my child slept. One is purple and one is charcoal. Talk about miracle! I am going to redo this bathroom, but am drawing a designer blank on what colors, theme, idea...etc. I need an inspiration!
This bathroom is currently nautical themed.
I love this little mirror frame that I found at Hobby Lobby. This shelf was made by my Dad..aka...wood carver/builder extraordinaire! Don't believe? Just check out my bed that he hand made me for my husband and I!

My girlfriend bought this cute fish wall hanging for us as a house warming gift. It fit perfectly with the yellow and navy walls! Our walls are very textured, so getting a straight line when painting it was impossible...don't look too close!

The shower curtain was the inspiration. My sister bought it for me in college and I just love it! However, it has paid it's dues and is ready to retire.

Oh, and this is Big C's bathroom...notice the bath toys? I don't play with them.....much.

Baby News

Kendra Wilkinson from "The Girls Next Door" is PREGNANT!! No, it's not Hugh Hefner's...not even gonna go there..... It is her fiance's, Pro football player Hank Baskett.

She is due on Christmas day and is getting married in two weeks at...no other than...the Playboy Mansion. She says that her bust just keeps getting bigger and bigger...well, yeah...that's what saline does to them! If it's a boy...Hank Jr. If it is a girl...Ariana...which is actually Hugh Hefner's ex-girlfriend Barbie Benton's daughter's name.....Why do I know so much about this?!

But seriously....

she is having a baby? Better get rid of the stripper pole!

Mini-Vaca

Our Trip Begins!!!

We traveled the very LONG 45 minutes to Cincinnati, Ohio after dropping off Big C at my parents' house for his first over night. I was actually really good and only called once...but they didn't answer.

The first thing we did was check into our hotel. It felt like college again, on spring break with "kids" with coolers, six packs, and duffel bags checking in, laughing, and yelling at one another. Our excitement level just continued to grow! After waiting in line, we finally got our hotel keys and headed up to our room.

I was excited to spend 48 hours of uninterruptedness with my husband in a big hotel bed...but what did I get....
TWO FULL BEDS!! How romantic!
Ok...Curt is 6'5"...I'm about 5'7"....we fit semi-comfortable in our king size bed that actually can fit a California King...ain't no way we were snugglin' in a double. We actually ended up sleeping separate that night...and to quote my husband, it was 'glorious'! It was also really nice to wake up in the morning and take our time getting ready, not having to rush to get ready because Big C was ready for breakfast. When baby hungry, baby gonna EAT!
The GREAT AMERICAN BALL PARK
I really do love going to baseball games...the excitement, the hot dogs, the peanuts, the (ahem) drinks, and just the atmosphere in general. It was also a bonus because we saw 2 different fights break out between fans.
See? Told you he was tall and I had on wedges!! GO CUBBIES! (Unfortunately, they didn't win Saturday, but they did on Sunday!
