Pink Infiltration

Well...it only took 24 hours before "pink" began to infiltrate our house! Big C is graciously sharing his closet with his little sister until his new room is ready. I must admit, it is odd for me to see pink amongst my little boy's clothes!

However, I am quickly getting the hang of it! I found this absolutely adorable PINK Ralph Lauren tank dress on sale at TJ Maxx and guess what?! It has BLOOMERS!!! BLOOMERS?! I can't believe it! I'm totally in love...*swoon*
Yes, I did mention that Big C is getting a new room...complete with big boy bed and all! Baby C will be moving into his old room and Big C will be moving into the newly renovated spare room. However, it is no where near ready. Until it is done...here is a sneak peak at his new room.

I just realized that I have been wearing pink for the past two days. I'm so thankful to have my little boy to help keep me balanced!

A Day We Will Never Forget

Today is a day that we will always remember. This morning we had our ultrasound to see Baby C and to make sure that the baby was healthy. Big C wanted to know the answer to the following question:
"Do I have a little brother or a little sister?" (Actually, he can't really ask that, but we know what he was thinking!)
Well...the answer is..........

Curt and I are excited (and a little shocked) to announce that Baby C is a SHE!
Lacey Marie Chase
Baby C is a healthy baby girl! We are beyond thrilled and feel so blessed. She is measuring a little small, so our fabulous doctor decided to push back the due date til February 21st. During the ultrasound, Baby C was very relaxed and honestly slept for most of the time. She did show off her ability to open and close her mouth a few times by yawning, I think that we were boring her actually....hee hee. There is a small cyst on her head that the doctor believes will go away on its own before she is born. As a precaution, we will be scheduling another ultrasound in a few months to take a quick look at it again. However, our doctor is not concerned about it at all. He was in such great spirits that he couldn't help him self from joking with us about Curt having a girl and about my fast delivery...even joking that he was going to pitch a tent at the hospital to wait for us!
Baby C had her own way communicating with us that she is healthy and doing well:
(If you can't see, she is holding up two fingers in a "peace sign".)

Our Precious Godson

Yesterday, Curt and I were honored to share in our nephew's Baptism as his Godparents. Oliver did wonderfully through the whole ceremony. He didn't seem to mind the Holy Water being poured on his head. However, his big brother, Collin, loudly told the congregation that "Baby doesn't like bath. Collin does! Collin wanna go in pool!" Collin is already looking out for his little bro!
Oliver wore a traditional Baptismal gown that has been in our family for nearly 100 years! My grandfather, father, sister, cousins, aunts, uncles, great aunts, great uncles, and etc. have all been Baptised in this
special family heirloom.

Thank you to my sister and her husband for allowing us to take such a special role in their child's life! We love you all!

How Big am I....err....is Baby C?

Currently Baby C is:
So, if you are curious about what it is like to be 20 weeks pregnant, try hiding a cantaloupe under you shirt...and the button your pants! Not easy, but I did it all day today for work...SUCCESS! (If you can't tell, I'm so proud of myself!)

A New (Obsession) Read

I have been fumbling around for the past couple of weeks without a book to read. I have re-read for the 5th time the Twilight series and that author's other book, "The Host". (It is a sci-fi book that takes a little while to get in to, but it is a pretty good read...not as good as Twilight though!) I was excited tonight when I went to the grocery store to pick up some apple food for my students to sample when I saw this:

Of course, I bought it right away! I've been waiting for this book to come out! Dan Brown is the author of a few other books, but my favorites and the most known are:

These books were also made into movies with Tom Hanks portraying the lead character, Robert Langdon. I, of course, have read them multiple times and was so excited when his newest book came out. I start it last night and after 60 pages of reading, I am already hooked! There is no need to have read his previous books to read this one, but it does help. I'll keep you posted on what I think about it!
**Also, Jen Lancaster, author of "Bitter is the New Black", "Bright Lights, Big Ass", "Such a Pretty Fat", and etc. has just finished her newest book. It is sent to the publisher and won't be out for awhile, but look for that one as well!
I'm so excited for new books!!! (Yes, this is the true dork in me!)

"Nigh,Nigh Mama?"

Big C was a little confused when we left this morning and it was still dark out. He kept asking me if it was "nigh, nigh"....translation "Is it time to go night, night?"

I don't blame him....I felt the same way!

All Aboard!!

Saturday, our family visited the Indiana Transportation Museum with Aunt Stacy, Uncle Adam, Collin, Oliver, Grammy, and Papa. Collin has a severe obsession with trains...like, sit in front of the TV and watch a 2 hour documentary on how steam engines were made ...OBSESSION! We were so excited to go and see his reaction to the trains, and he did not disappoint!

After touring the Museum...which was different trains to walk through, we took a 45 minute train ride to dinner and then another return train ride home. We saw LOTS of these:
Aunt Stacy bought Collin and Big C matching "Engineer in Training" t-shirts and Grammy bought them the cutest conductor hats. Big C loved following his cousin around. He didn't really understand the trains, but thought that it must be pretty cool since Collin was so excited.

Take a good look...you won't see many pregger pictures of me! (Here I am almost 20 weeks with the husband...and no, we didn't plan to match, but it actually happens a lot.)

Aunt Stacy and Collin sitting by the window waiting for our train ride to start. Uncle Adam holding baby Oliver...who is looking more and more like Collin when he was a baby.
Big C loved the train, but after 15 minutes, he did something to do. Papa's lap was the perfect place to look at books. However, once he realized that he could walk on the train while it was moving we ended up chasing him up and down the aisle.

By the time we got home, we were all dirty, tired, full bellies, but extremely happy. Thank you Aunt Stacy for inviting us! We had a great time!

Nana's Chicken

Nana's Chicken is a FAVORITE in my house. It is the easiest, yummiest go-to recipe that I have and is always a crowd pleaser.

You will need some plain chips, crushed.

3-4 boneless chicken breast

Sour Cream

and of course, butter.

Of course, to cook it you will need a stove.

Slather your chicken breast in sour cream (I use Fat Free because it makes me feel healthier..HA!). Cover the sour cream slathered chicken in the crushed potato chips and lay on a baking sheet. Melt butter, Paula says that more the merrier!, and pour over the chicken, save a little. Then back in the oven at 400 degrees for about 30 minutes. After 15 minutes, pour the rest of your butter on the chicken. Serve it warm with your choice of veggies and potatoes...YUM!

Harry Potter Theme Park?

I may or may not be a HUGE Harry Potter fan. I've read all of the books (which I own) about 100 times each, own all of the movies, frequently quote the books and movies, have count downs to each movie or new book coming out....ugh, you decided if I am obsessed or not!

As soon as I heard about a Harry Potter theme park, I instantly started day dreaming about me carrying a wand through Hogwarts...a little crazy?

"Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey" will be a high-tech ride and attraction at the "Wizarding World of Harry Potter" which will be opening at the Universal Orlando Resort in the spring of 2010. The ride will take guests through scenes and rooms from the movies in a remake of the Hogwarts castle that is made to look 700 feet tall!

After entering through Hogsmeade, the town near Hogwarts Castle, guests will be able to stop at many shops and restaurants that are Harry Potter themed. There will be Honeydukes that sells chocolate frogs and "Bertie Bott's Every-Flavour Beans", Ollivander's is where I can get my magic wand, Zonko's joke shop has Sneakoscopes, and the Three Broomsticks pours Butterbeer. If you are just about ready to go crazy with excitement, hold that thought, because you can also visit the Owl Post and send a letter with the certified Hogsmeade postmark and stop at Dervish and Banges to purchase all of your Quidditch accessories!

The author of Harry Potter, J.K. Rowling, is very protective of her books and wants everything associated with it to be as close to the book as possible. She has put her stamp of approval on the park and meetings have already been in the works with her many of times for design ideas!

I'm just so excited I don't think that I can stand myself! I better go reread all of the books again to get ready!!!!!!

Goodbye Mr. Swayze

Sadly, Patrick Swayze died today after his 20 month fight with pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by family and loved ones. He was 57.

This is how I will choose to remember him...Dirty Dancing will always be one of my most family movies.

Kanye Can Learn From Beyonce!

I watched the MTV Video Music Awards last night and was completely disgusted with Kanye West. Here's the story. Taylor Swift won the first award of the night, Best Female Video...which, is awesome, but equally impressive is that she is a country singer! This was her first EVER moon man win. You could tell by her face that she was shocked and so excited. Taylor was right in the middle of her heart felt, yet a little dazed, acceptance speech when out of no where Kanye grabs the mic from her hand and spouts off:

"Hey Taylor, I'm really happy for you, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time." He was promptly met with boos from the audience, while poor Taylor could only look on. Taylor looked completely humiliated, I felt humiliated! I started booing at my TV along with the crowd!
Later on in the show, Beyonce won for Best Video and showing TRUE class, this is what she had to say:

"Wow, this is amazing," Beyonce said when receiving her award. "I remember being 17-years-old and up for my first MTV award with Destiny's Child. It was one of the most exciting moments in my life. So, I'd like for Taylor to come out and have her moment."
Yes, I did tear up then....her mother has got to be so proud!!
Stars took to twitter afterwards:

Pink said: "Kanye West is the biggest piece of sh-t on earth. Quote me," she wrote. "My heart goes out to Taylor Swift. She is a sweet and talented girl, and deserved her moment. She should know we all love her."
Perez Hilton and Hayley Williams wrote that they were on "TeamTaylor".
Apparently, Kanye apologized by blogging about it....ugh, like that matters!
"I'M SOOOOO SORRY TO TAYLOR SWIFT AND HER FANS AND HER MOM," Kanye wrote on his site. "I SPOKE TO HER MOTHER RIGHT AFTER AND SHE SAID THE SAME THING MY MOTHER WOULD'VE SAID. SHE IS VERY TALENTED!"
Sometimes, saying sorry doesn't just doesn't help.

Bathroom #3 Renovation: FINALLY!

I have finally started to repaint our final bathroom...I think it was feeling left out since the other two bathrooms got a fresh coat of paint and new flooring. It is not done by any means, but the floor is 90% done and the walls are at least primed. I had originally painted the bathroom a yellow on top and a navy on the bottom to math the shower curtain my sister had gotten me in college.

I started to prime the walls.....

...and now they look so white! I'm drawing a blank on a color.

HELP!! I've done purple, yellow, navy, gray, orange, and khaki...for some reason, I've got a 'painter's block"! I need a color that will match the new floor...which I LOVE!

Any ideas? I'm going to buy a new shower curtain, towels, and accessories to match so matching what I have now is not an issue.
