An Embarassing Confession

I have a confession.
I have an embarrassing confession.
I have fake hair volume.

Whew....that feels a little better. Let me explain.

I suffer from no volume hair. None....nadda.....nothing.....zip volume. I had seen an advertisement on the TV to help those of us who suffer from this hair disability. After thinking about it for about a month, I saw the product when I was out shopping and discretely bought it. I guess, what I am trying to say is that I am an owner of:

and I'm proud of it!!!

I finally have volume in my hair that actually lasts and looks natural and not like a rat's nest from teasing it to get it to stay up, up, up! I have three different sizes, small, medium, and Amy Winehouse scary large. I only use the medium one and I have to admit, every time I wear it, I get a compliment on my hair. It has been great for every day wear but I also used it to do my hair for a wedding that I was a bridesmaid in and people could not believe that I did my hair, not a professional.

So, Hi, my name is Lindsay and I own Bump Its and I love them!

You Down With O-L-P?

Yah...You Know ME!!!

We are down with O-L-P!! Curt thought of a fantastically unique gift for our Godson Oliver and I just had to share! He found baseball hats whose colleges create the initials in Oliver's name. How cool is that?!

How beautiful is his face?!
I think that it is safe to say that we are head over heals down with O-L-P!!

Adding On....

....to our house!!

FINALLY!! FINALLY!! FINALLY!! I have wanted to add on to the back of our house a bigger patio for almost two years and it FINALLY happened!! We used to have a door mat sized concrete slab, barely big enough to wipe your feet on. Now we have a big whopper of a patio that nicely fits our grill, Big C's toy, and some room to spare for outdoor furniture....when we buy some. I still need to 'jazz' it up by adding some eye candy around the edges, but as of right now, I am just THRILLED that we have it!!

Beautiful big slab of concrete!
With room to spare!

Thank you to much to my wonderful husband for FINALLY getting it done and footing the bill! Thanks so much to my dad for helping us every step of the way.
Thanks so much to Scott for lending us his muscles!

Old Love Revisted

You know how you can sometimes start moving in one direction and pretty soon.....you forgot where you had been or how you got there? Then, when you lease expect it, you are transported back to a special place or time? Well....that has been me lately. I have been transported back to my college days and memories of those days. No, it wasn't due to a picture....a movie.....or a long lost friend. It was food!

This food to be exact....yogurt with granola.

I have been having a bowl of it during lunch and for a few moments, I am reminded of being back in the sorority house, watching TLC's a wedding story with my roommates, and having breakfast reading the 'ol campus newspaper.....ahh....memories.

Hello old friend....how I have missed you!

It's Baaaaack!

Toddlers and Tiaras is back on TLC for it's second season. If you haven't seen it, it is a reality show following the pageant life of little girls and a few little boys. Ages range from 2 weeks old to 16 years old and sometimes even parents competing too.

One parent confessed that she has spend between $65,000-$70,000 on pageants and her daughter was only 4 years old. (Her daughter did win one pageant that paid $1,000.) I'm not passing judgement on the show....to each their own....but you should check it out....VERY interesting!

I have to admit though....if I was in a pageant I would look less like this:

and probably more like this:
The world just can't handle this!

Breaking News

We've lost another great one.

Sadly, the Taco Bell dog (whose actual name was Gidget) passed away today at the age of 15 (that's 105 in dog years) due to a stroke.

Well Gidget...where ever you are.....this chalupa's for you!

Recipe to Try

I was watching "Unwrapped" on the Food Network Channel and came across this recipe that I thought I absolutely needed to try. I haven't tried it yet, but if you have let me know how it turns out. It sounds super yummy!

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg beaten

  • 4: 5 ounce boneless chicken breast

  • 2 tablespoons of all purpose flour

  • 2 cups of this:

What to do?

Place the french friend onions and flour in lightly crush. After beating your egg, dip the chicken into the egg then roll into the crushed mixture of flour and french friend onions. Place on cooking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink in the center.
I'm envisioning something similar to this:

Of course adding green beans!
I make something similar that we call "Nana's Chicken." I'll post that recipe soon!

The Collin and Big C Show

On Sunday morning, I woke up at my parent's house to the first official Collin (my nephew) and Big C show. They would walk out of my parent's bedroom to the balcony and the following would happen:

Collin is yelling down about swimming in the pool and show us how he blows water. Big C....well....fankly....he is just yelling, but it sounds important.

Did you notice their matching pj's too?

Congratulations Jess and Bob!

This week was full of welcoming new family members! On Saturday, Curt's sister got married!! Welcome officially to the family Uncle Bob!

The lovely bride, Jessica, with her groom, Bob.

Big C was the ring bearer for their wedding.
Raise your hand if you walked down the aisle like a big boy!!!

Big C was so cute walking down the aisle. He thought that he would help out the minister, so he just walked right up to him and started talking away. Sadly, Big C has not taken the online course, so he could not be the officiant.

I was a bridesmaid and Curt did a reading for the wedding.

Don't we make a good lookin' family?!

Introducing....

My Godson....OLIVER LYNDON POLLERT!!!

Oliver was born on Thursday, July 16th at 9:15 pm.

He weighs 6.10 oz and is 20 inches long and is PERFECT!!

Even Big C agrees! He really wanted to hold him, but I had a strong feeling that it wasn't such a good idea.

He has been such a good baby. Oliver has been sleeping most of the time and eating, like most newborns do. He had an echo done on his heart today as a precautionary measure due to his big brother having heart issues. The echo came back that he is completely healthy.....Thank you God!
Confession: I'm in LOVE!

Babies, Babies, and MORE Babies!

Our favorite triplets won first place in a baby contest at the county fair!! However, they have always been first place in our hearts!

Baby Arden, Mom Erica, Baby Harper, Dad Josh, and Baby Emerson...what a good looking family!

Welcome Baby Benjamin!! Our very good friends had their first child yesterday, Benjamin Robert. He is weighing in at 8.7 lbs and 20 3/4 inches long. After a very long delivery, both Mom and baby are doing well.

We were lucky enough to visit with them today and even hold Benjamin! He is absolutely perfect!

Benjamin and Curt...sporting similar hair do's!

Me and Benjamin....already a Cubs fan! (Can you tell I was a little excited to meet him?!)

Well...if you thought I was done talking about babies....you got another thing coming! My sister just left for the hospital to hopefully deliver their second child today, Oliver. I'll keep you posted with the news!

Happy Anniversary Hubby!

Happy 4th Anniversary to my amazing husband!! Four years ago today, we were surrounding by family and friends pledging our commitment and love to each other in front of God. I didn't know it was possible, but I love him now more than ever!

(This picture was taken when we were a lot younger.....and a lot cooler!)

Even though today is our anniversary, we celebrated last night with dinner and a movie...sans Big C. What movie did we choose?
mmmmm....well, this is another reason why I love my husband! He lets me drag him to all sorts of movies!
I haven't seen a bad Harry Potter movie yet.....and this one will not disppoint!

Crime and Punishment 101

The Culprit:
The Crime:
How did I know it was him?
I caught him fleeing the scene of the crime....at least attempting too (remind me to get child proof door knobs!).

The Punishment:
Watching Mommy clean it up....and laughing the whole time.

Empire Waist, Sweatheart Neckline, Beading..OH MY!

I had such a fun afternoon today! One of my closest friends asked if I would like to go wedding dress shopping with her...of course, I JUMPED at the occasion! I mean, I got to help dress someone up as a real live Barbie doll! I seriously had such a FANTASTIC time! I hope that the bride to be had as much fun as I did!

Which dress did she choose?

I'M NOT TELLING!

You'll have to wait until July 24, 2010!

Flip Flops Aren't Just For Your Feet!

Big C and I were doing a bit of shopping yesterday and I came across this adorable idea for drink coasters/ drink markers for parties. You all know I love a theme and I thought that these were just too cute!

I immediately pictured myself, surrounded by friends, sitting on our new patio...the men playing corn hole, the dogs chasing each other in the yard, and the ladies sipping our summer cocktails and never having to ask ..."Who's drink is this?" or "Is this my drink?" All while being impossibly stylish themed.
Then I remembered...the patio is a just a hole in the ground.....the dogs knock everyone over...making the children cry.....it's so hot that you never put your drink down...and we have a long way to go to be "stylish".
However....the flip flop coasters are a start!
