"Where O Where Has This Blogger Friend Been..."

So it is TOTALLY uncharacteristic of me to have not blogged in so long, but let me give you the run down of what has been keeping me from my precious blogging...

  • No More Maternity Leave! That's right, I'm back at the daily 'grind' of teaching. That means, waking up at 5:00am to get everyone up and out the door, including my self! The end of the school year is always a sprint to the finish....lots of things to do with little time to do them!

  • Nursing! Baby C is still only receiving breast milk, which means during the day, instead of being able to work on post on my prep times at school, I am pumping. Yes, I totally feel like a cow sometimes with my little mini pump station set up at school.

  • Grad Courses! My two Master's course started this week. I have been really nervous about them for some reason, so of course obsessing over them takes up the majority of my time!

  • Big C and Baby C! Since going back to school, when I have time with my kiddos I want to focus my energy on them during the week. Going from seeing them from them 10 hours a day to only 4-5 hours a day has been really hard on me. I know I am working to be able to provide for them, but I miss them terribly when I am away from them. They are always on my mind!

  • My Knight in Shinning Armor...a.k.a....my Husband! It has been extremely hard to find quality time with him as his last Master's classes started this week also along with open gym for basketball. The most time we spend together is spent with both of us unconscious...sleeping at night!

Luckily, we are both school teachers and our summer vacation is coming soon....not soon enough though for this Mama/Teacher/Wife/ Student...etc, etc!

What's Your CO2 Footprint?

Driving into school today, I started looking around at the other drivers and noticed that almost every car had only one person in it. This lead me to beginning wondering about how much Carbon was being released which ultimately got me started thinking about what my CO2 footprint. I went searching and found this online:

After searching many websites, I found this carbon footprint calculator to be most user friendly. It compares your average CO2 foot print to average United States per person. Mine was:

25
Your Estimated Emissions (1 person household)

27
United States Average per Person(1 person household)

5.5
World Average per Person(1 person household)

It also has excellent easy tips that will not only reduce your carbon footprint, but will ultimately save you money too! A little more money in our pockets isn't a bad thing! Go to their website and calculate your carbon footprint. Leave me a comment and let me know what your CO2 footprint is and any tips for me on how to lower mine! (I know using cloth diapers is an excellent way...but with 2 babies in diapers, I think that I'll just push Big C harder in the potty training department!)

M.I.A. and Mother's Day

Yes, I realize that I have been MIA (Missing In Action) on the blogging lately. Last week was my first week back at school so finding our new routine spent most of the week. I'm proud to say that we survived with only minor battle wounds and one trip to the doctors!

One trip to the doctors?! Oh no! Well, let me tell you, it is a little more....challenging taking 2 kids at 2 years old and under out alone, but when waiting for OVER AN HOUR to see the doctor, it is down right DIFFICULT! However, I must brag that Big C did WONDERFUL!! He 'flirted' with the nurses, played with his toys quietly, and was very patient! I couldn't ask for more! We ended up at the doctor because Baby C had some issues with where her diaper lays. It turns out that she is allergic to her diapers. Both of the kids have always worn pampers. However, now our little Diva needs the Pampers Sensitive.

I'm happy to say that we have been using them since Thursday and her "rump shaker" has gotten SO much better!

Mother's Day was wonderful yesterday.....any day that all of us are together all day is wonderful in my book! We kept it low key all day just spending time with each other after a hectic week. I couldn't have asked for more! Happy Mother's Day to everyone who mothers...whether it be a child, an animal, or even some adults!

Baby C 3 Month Update

Baby C is 3 months old today....where has the time gone?!

What's up with Baby C?

  • Baby C is wearing 3-6 months clothing.

  • She wears size 2 diapers, which sometimes can not hold all of her, umm....'waste'. Baby girls has some healthy bowel movements!

  • Baby C is over 12 pounds....I'm assuming closer to 14lbs. Must weigh her soon.

  • Baby C is still only getting Mommy's Milk and drinking about 4-5 ounces at a time.

  • She sleeps from 8:00/8:30 until 5:30/6:00 every day in her crib which she loves.

  • Baby C has the best little girl smile I've ever seen! She gives us a huge open mouth gummy smile that just melts our hearts!

  • She has started going to the baby sitters this week. She has only gone a few times, but she loves it! She loves watching her big brother play.

  • She still lets me dress her up in bows and headbands...gotta do it while I can!

  • Baby C continues to melt our hearts every day with her smile and bright eyes. She loves to look around and is starting to lock her legs and stands. She sits in her bumbo seat which she loves and looks around. Tummy time has been much easier with her than it was with Big C.

  • Big C just loves and adores his little sister. He gives her kisses and NEEDS to know where she is at all times. He is a great big brother!
