A Day On Maternity Leave

Here is a snapshot of what my day looks like now with a newborn, 2 year old, husband.....oh yeah, and throw a dog into the mix too!

3:30AM: Wake up to grunting...Baby C is ready to eat.

6:30AM: Alarm (actual alarm, not Baby C) goes off, time to get Big C up, dressed and off to 'school'...also making sure that the husband is up and getting ready.

7:00AM: The boys....Big C and the husband...out the door, dog taken care off, time to feed Baby C and do the Mommy duty...pump!
8:00-9:30AM: Start some household chores....laundry, dishes, etc...then get myself ready.

9:30AM: Time to feed Baby C again.....

10:00AM:Play dress up with Baby C and have our daily mini photo shoot!

10:30-12:30PM: Run any errands, play with Baby C...tummy time, reading her a book, discussing TV topics, eating my lunch, folding laundry, etc....

12:30PM: Didn't I just feed her? Time for Baby C to eat again!

1:00-3:00PM: Baby C and I take a little snooze...

3:00PM: Seriously, didn't she just eat?! Time to feed her again!

4:00PM: Pick up Big C from 'school'.

4:30-6:00PM: Play with Big C, cook dinner, eat dinner, etc...
6:30PM: Again...another Baby C feeding!
7:00PM:Bath time for Baby C and Big C.

7:30Pm: Cuddle time with Big C while he relaxes before bed.

8:00PM: Big C bed time...Mommy shower time!

8:30-10:00PM: Spend some quality time with the husband.

10:00PM: Yet another feeding for Baby C!

11:00PM: *sigh*...fall asleep as my head hits the pillow!
3:00AM: REPEAT!

  1. Oh my goodness! Have you read the latest entry in Melissa's blog: http://staffordmoments.blogspot.com/

Melissa's father-in-law died yesterday but Melissa couldn't be bothered to travel with her husband Chad to be with his father, even though they knew he was going to die this week.

Worse than not being bothered to see her father-in-law, Melissa has been blogging about going shopping, going to lunch with her girlfriends, going to the gym, etc. rather than being at her husband's side.

Melissa says she can't travel a few hours by car to visit her dying father in law because she is pregnant. What the heck? How can you NOT travel to see your dying father-in-law but you can go to the gym?? go shopping?? and go out to lunch??

Now Melissa says she can't even be bothered to go to the poor man's funeral. Too busy going to the gym, I guess?

How many of you girls out there would not go and visit your father-in-law if you knew he only had a few days left on this earth? How many of you would leave your husband alone to watch his father die? How many of you would rather go shopping and go to the gym than go to your father-in-law's funeral?

I am just astonished at how cold, un-Godly and cruel this woman is. Incredible.

  3. This post brought back some fond and not-so-fond memories. I loved my maternity leave time, but I have never been so exhausted in my life. My step-mom stayed with us the first week I brought my son home, and she said I fell asleep in mid-sentence when I was talking to her!

You children are beautiful. Don't know how you do it with two!
