Still looking for a Halloween costume this year? Well, I hope you didn't plan on being Kate Gosselin! A wig inspired by her hair is on back order! It is called the "Eight is Too Much" wig.

Baby C Update
As we are moving into our 6th month of preggo-tastic, I thought it was appropriate to give a little update on Baby C's progress. We did have a doctor's appointment this week. Baby C's heart rate looks fantastic, right in the normal range and by judging my by belly size, she is growing right on track. We did "make a date" for another ultrasound to check the cyst that is on her head and to take the dreaded glucose test. This won't happen for another few weeks so until then...business as usual around here...along with extra praying that the cyst as gone away on it's own.
Big C did make me laugh today....which is normal, but I could have cried too! Today was the first day that he noticed my bulging belly. While laying on the couch watching Mickey Mouse, he had his head resting on my stomach and it kept rolling to one side. He sat up, turned around, and pulled up my shirt to which he gave a surprised "WOWWW!!".
Apparently, he realized that my "six pack" was now replaced with a "pony keg." Jokes on him....pretty soon, it will be a regular full size keg!

Sprinkle for Baby C
This weekend, my mom and sister hosted a "Sprinkle" for Baby C. For those of you who have never heard of a sprinkle, it is like a baby shower, but just "down sized". This sprinkle was to accessorize our baby girl since our house has very much been inhabited by blue boy's clothing and toys. We are now fully embracing PINK...and zebra print too! I didn't do a good job of taking pictures, as you can imagine, I was a little busy! You can see more pictures at my sister's blog. (Yes, Mrs. Jessie...there is a picture of my preggo self for you to see!)
The "dinning" table....
...the gift table...before the piles of gifts...
Big C was not left out by any means...he even helped open some gifts. This gift was from Big C and his cousins for Baby C. I can just envision them now...Baby C having the three boys lined up, in dresses and these Princess shoes while she wears the tiara and orders them around...Oh how their Daddies with cringe and Mommies will laugh!
Are these two not the most adorable babies ever? No, they are not twins...not even related! The baby on the top is baby Ben born July 15th and the one on the bottom is cousin Oliver born July 16th! They showed up to the sprinkle in matching outfits. I loved it when they laid together and held hands...so precious!

Not Such a Little Pumpkin Any More!
A couple of weekends ago, Big C got to visit a pumpkin patch to pick out pumpkins for Daddy, Mommy, and himself.
He also got to pick out a little pumpkin for his little sister. That's when I realized that he is my "not so little" pumpkin!
Big C LOVED the pumpkins. He had a very hard time deciding which ones to choose. However, when it came to carving them...he could have cared less! Curt and I carved them while he played with is blocks.

Helping Out Our Fellow Man
To help out our fellow "man" this week, I have a P.S.A.....Personal Sanity Announcement...Public Service Announcement.
Last night, well into the night, at 1:44 AM I was awoken by a extremely annoying "chirping" sound. About a minute later, it happened again. What was it you may ask was disturbing our sleep:
The next hour was like the episode of "FRIENDS" when Phoebe had the issue with the smoke detector and ended up destroying it.
However, we did not destroy the smoke detector, but we did have to make a trip to the store at 2:30 am after we figured out the the battery needed to be replaced and we didn't have one. Curt did begin to take a part Big C's toys to see if they had the correct battery....but he has a lot of toys!
So...for my PSA: If you can't remember the last time that the batteries in your smoke detectors were changed, please change them! I will be changing all of the batteries this weekend as to not have another episode where I ended up like this at 2:00AM:

You Know Juno?
For the past few weeks, I have been obsessed with the 2007 movie 'Juno'. I think that I have watched it about 20 twenty times in the past month. The "one liners" and sarcastic humor totally get me every time. This week, during lunch, a few of us started quoting the movie. After lunch, I promptly spent my 30 minute prep reading movie quotes to my assistant who has never seen the movie.
Here are a few of my favorite quotes from the movie with a few scenes to help tie it together for those of you who have never seen the movie...which I recommend!
Ultrasound Technician: Well, there you have it. Would you like to know the sex? Leah: Yes! Juno MacGuff: No! Leah: Pleease, Juno, please! Juno MacGuff: No, there will be no sex! Ultrasound Technician: Planning to be surprised when you deliver? Juno MacGuff: Well, no, but I want Mark and Vanessa to be surprised and if you tell me I'll just, like, ruin everything. Ultrasound Technician: Are Mark and Vanessa your friends at school? Juno MacGuff: No, no, no. They're the adoptive parents. Ultrasound Technician: Oh, well thank goodness for that! Bren: What's that supposed to mean? Ultrasound Technician: I just see a lot of teenage mothers come through here and it's obviously a poisonous environment to raise a baby in. Juno MacGuff: How do you know I'm so poisonous? What if these adoptive parents turn out to be, like, evil molesters? Leah: Or, like, stage parents. Bren: They could be utterly negligent. Maybe they'll do a far shittier job of raising a kid than my dumbass step-daughter would. Have you considered that? Ultrasound Technician: I guess not. Bren: What is your job title exactly? Ultrasound Technician: I'm an ultrasound technician, ma'am. Bren: Well, I'm a nail technician and I think we both ought to just stick to what we know. Ultrasound Technician: Excuse me? Bren: Oh, you think you're so special because you get to play Picture Pages up there? Well, my five year old daughter could do that and let me tell you, she's not the brightest bulb in the tanning bed. So why don't you go back to night school in Mantino and learn a real trade. Juno MacGuff: Bren! You's a dick! I love it!

Juno MacGuff: As far as boyfriends go, Paulie Bleeker is totally boss. He is the cheese to my macaroni. And, I know that people are supposed to fall in love before they reproduce, but... I guess normalcy isn't really our style.
Rollo: So what's the prognosis, Fertile Myrtle? Minus or plus? Juno MacGuff: I don't know. It's not seasoned yet. [grabs products] Juno MacGuff: I'll take some of these. Nope... There it is. The little pink plus sign is so unholy. [shakes pregnancy tester] Rollo: That ain't no Etch-A-Sketch. This is one doodle that can't be un-did, Homeskillet.
Hmmm...I think I'll go see if it is showing on the movie channel.....

Baby C's Room...PSYCH!
No...Baby C's room is not done yet, but I thought that since I posted Big C's room I would give you a little tease into Baby C's nursery. I did get some more work done in it, however I am still looking for a few more items to really give it....pizazz! Until then....here is a little teaser for you!
Also, thank you to Curt's parents for this cute outfit for her!

Big C's Big Boy Room!
Big C has successfully transitioned into his big boy room! He loves his bed and runs right into his room and gets in bed then sits and looks around like he is King of the castle! His room is not yet totally finished, I need to add a few details, but the big things are in and are in place.
He has a little reading nook complete with two big floor pillows and a handmade rocking chair that is just his size. Papa Jr. hand crafted this special rocking chair for him and Big C loves to sit in it and watch Mickey Mouse.
This is a view from his windows looking to the door of his room. We did add a baby gate at the top of the stairs, but he is actually doing so well at going up and down the stairs on his own. He can reach the banister now and holds on to and steps one foot at a time down the stairs.

Baby C Update
For the next month, Baby C is about the size of a papaya.
She is able to hear now and loud voices may waker her up when sleeping, which she is sleeping 12-14 hours during the day. I am starting to feel her more since she is getting bigger. I had forgotten what this felt like after Big C, but it is such a miracle and a blessing to be feeling it! I can still only feel her moving internally, but she is getting stronger every day!

Congrats Ashley and Jason!
Saturday night I got a text message from my dear friend Ashley...ironically, I was at a wedding reception....but the text message said, "I'm engaged!"
I was so excited, I started screaming and ran out to call her. Ashley is just the sweetest, kindest girl that you will ever find and Jason is a wonderful man whom I know will always take care of her and treat her with the respect and love that she deserves.

Congratulations to you both! I'm so happy and excited for the both of you!

Surprise on ME!
What a wonderful husband I have! Today, the door bell rang and when I went to answer it, I found these:
Aren't they beautiful? They are from Curt thanking me for all of the hard work I have done to get ready for our baby girl.
I don't know if it was the beauty of the flowers, the pregnancy hormones, or the sweetest gesture from him for thinking about me....but I cried like, well, a baby!

Busy Bee!
Why no posting in the last day? Well, there has been a lot of putting together of these:
for Big C's room and finishing his new room. Yes, I promise to post pictures when it is completely finished...in a few days! Also, I have started working on Baby C's room. I'm not going to go into any details, but I will tell you that it is inspired by this:

Siesta for All!
Big C christened in his new big boy bed with sleeping in it for the first time! After a few minutes of pushing pillows off of the bed, he settled down for his siesta.
Hopefully, this smooth transitioning into his new room will continue! Now I am off to begin my siesta that Curt has already started.....*sigh*
**Update** Bedtime routine, just as smooth! YES!

Show Us Your Life: Baby/Toddler Gear
This week on Show Us Your Life it is all about Baby Gear, things that you could and couldn't live without. We are well into toddler gear currently with Big C being 21 months old. Here are some things that we definitely got our money's worth!
Child's Walker:
Big C LOVED this! It was his first taste of independence (considering that he hated to be on his stomach and didn't crawl until after he could walk.). He not only loved to follow us around the house, but also chase our dog (much to the dog's dismay!)
When his legs gained better control and muscles, he would then push it an walk behind it. (I promise he loved it! This picture was taken after his 12 month shots, I would look like that too after getting 4 shots!)
A hand held DVD player has saved us many times...long car trips, long family outings, fancy dinners....or just when a really good show is on! We try not to use it every time, but only on those special occasions when we know he might get in "melt down" mode.
TIGER! TIGER! TIGER! We have had tiger ever since Big C was 3 months old. He LOVES his tiger "lovie" from Angel Dear. I actually bought 4 of them so that he does not have to go without when one is washed or in case we ever loose one. Tiger goes everywhere with us and has been such a comfort to Big C. This was a HUGE necessity for us. We have already bought Baby C her own Angel Dear blankies and she won't be born until February!

See? Tiger goes every where and is just as important to Big C as food and water! ( A rare moment at home when Big C was watching the DVD...or even sitting still now!)
These are just a few things that we couldn't live without for our toddler...there are a lot more, but these were the top necessities. I do have a question though. We will be expecting a baby girl in February and all I know is boys! What is something that will be a necessity for a baby girl?
