Dog The Bounty Hunter

A recent conversation between my husband and I after I have been watching all of the episodes of "Dog The Bounty Hunter".

ME: Hey Curt?! What would you think about me quiting my job to become...wait for it...a BOUNTY HUNTER.

HUSBAND: No.

ME: Why not? I think I would be so good at it.

HUSBAND: No.

ME: Really? You don't think I would, like, totally rock at catching bad guys?

HUSBAND: No.

ME: Hmmm...you can make a lot of money doing it.

HUSBAND: No.

ME: Well, how about we think about. I think it could work out.

HUSBAND: No.

Still thinking about it.....

A Day On Maternity Leave

Here is a snapshot of what my day looks like now with a newborn, 2 year old, husband.....oh yeah, and throw a dog into the mix too!

3:30AM: Wake up to grunting...Baby C is ready to eat.

6:30AM: Alarm (actual alarm, not Baby C) goes off, time to get Big C up, dressed and off to 'school'...also making sure that the husband is up and getting ready.

7:00AM: The boys....Big C and the husband...out the door, dog taken care off, time to feed Baby C and do the Mommy duty...pump!
8:00-9:30AM: Start some household chores....laundry, dishes, etc...then get myself ready.

9:30AM: Time to feed Baby C again.....

10:00AM:Play dress up with Baby C and have our daily mini photo shoot!

10:30-12:30PM: Run any errands, play with Baby C...tummy time, reading her a book, discussing TV topics, eating my lunch, folding laundry, etc....

12:30PM: Didn't I just feed her? Time for Baby C to eat again!

1:00-3:00PM: Baby C and I take a little snooze...

3:00PM: Seriously, didn't she just eat?! Time to feed her again!

4:00PM: Pick up Big C from 'school'.

4:30-6:00PM: Play with Big C, cook dinner, eat dinner, etc...
6:30PM: Again...another Baby C feeding!
7:00PM:Bath time for Baby C and Big C.

7:30Pm: Cuddle time with Big C while he relaxes before bed.

8:00PM: Big C bed time...Mommy shower time!

8:30-10:00PM: Spend some quality time with the husband.

10:00PM: Yet another feeding for Baby C!

11:00PM: *sigh*...fall asleep as my head hits the pillow!
3:00AM: REPEAT!

Baby C: 1 Month Old

I can't believe that Baby C is already 1 month old! It doesn't feel like she could be this old already...time is moving too fast!

What's Baby C been up to?
  • She now weighs over 9lbs! She continues to eat really well, however she is a spit up queen and has projectile vomited a few times. Baby C has good aim, if she is aiming for me!

Exhibit A

  • For the past two nights, Baby C has only woken up once to eat! She has given me 4-5 hours of consecutive sleep. I couldn't be more happy than that!
  • Baby C is so alert! She loves to be talked to and will stare at our faces. She loves her big brother! Big C will crouch down and talk to her "Hi CC. Bye CC. Wuv ewe CC. Tay-ten see you. Tay-ten go to scool." Melts my heart!

  • Baby C is still a talker! She grunts nonstop when she is awake. She loves to be up looking around, trying to focus her eyes. She does very well with tummy time (a lot better than her big brother ever did!) and is getting so strong at holding her head up!

  • We have been taking short trips...Target, grocery store, TJ Maxx, etc. and she seems to love it although she sleep through them.

  • She has been smiling a little, but I hoping next month it will be more deliberate smiling and not just gas smiles!
  • Curt, Big C, and I still catch ourselves staring at her. She is just so beautiful and such a blessing to us all!

Race for the Cure

Let's face it, breast cancer SUCKS! It sucks for everyone. It especially sucks for the one out of eight women who will be stricken with it in their life time. Think about, you probably know at least one person who has been affected some how by breast cancer. It just SUCKS!

Yesterday, I signed up and donated money to help find a cure for breast cancer for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Each year I participate, I still get teary eyed seeing the many survivors walking in their pink shirts or reading the back of participates shirts each one stating whom they are walking for...some in celebration, but too many in memory.

You can do your part to help! If you live in the Indy area, sign up to participate in the race or volunteer during the race on April 17th. Can't make it? You can sign up as a "sleeper in" and still make your donation and receive the race day shirt. You can also make a tax-deductible donation to my fund. My goal is $150.00 and every little bit counts!

Together, WE WILL FIND A CURE!!

Go Lancers!!

This week is Indiana's Boys' Basketball Sectional week. To get the basketball team geared up for sectional, I decided to make them each an individual 'cake' with their number. I actually saw this on my friend's blog and have been wanting to make them, but didn't have a reason too....until this week! It was so easy to make!

The ingredients:

The outcome:
The school colors are black and red, but I thought a marbled look would be neat for each cake...even though they kinda look like little rocks! Each member of the sectional team, managers, and coaches each got a 'monogrammed' cake with either their number or initials.
Good Luck Lancers!!!!
