New Must Read

Think along the lines of Harry Potter meets Twilight.....

....interested? The setting is a school for vampires! I began reading the first book in the House of Night series (there are 8 in all), Marked and couldn't put it down! Now I am on to the 2nd book. I have to admit, it was a little hard to get into. Give it 5 chapters, and if you aren't hooked after that I'll be surprised!
Oh and speaking of Harry Potter...have you seen it? Part I for of the last movie/book Deathly Hallows? I went this past weekend and saw it.....one word....AMAZING!!!!

Baby C: 9 Month Update

I think that this is the first post in the history of all of my posts that I have not included a picture! The camera cord is still in a box, in the millions of boxes that I have left to unpack. Since we still do have not the kitchen put in....we only have a toaster oven and microwave along with a mini-fridge....everything is still in boxes downstairs. However, Baby C did have her 9 month check up, then a few days later, both she and Big C were back to the doctor's office with croup. Thankfully, they are finally starting to act like themselves again!

Anyways...back to Baby C's 9 month appointment:

  • Baby C is 20lbs, 75%, 29inches, 95%, with a large head in the 90%
  • Baby C is 'talking' like crazy! Lots of 'dadada', 'bababa', 'yayaya' and many screeches to go along with those!
  • She is still recieving only breast milk and nursing since she still does not have any teeth. NOT ONE TOOTH! Oh how I love the toothless smiles and kisses she gives!
  • She can feed herself with finger foods...puffs, bitter biscuits, small pieces of bread, cheerios
  • She eats two containers of baby food in one sitting and puffs
  • Baby C is starting to become more mobile. She will push herself backwards, but would prefer to be in the walker walking around or being carried.
  • She continues to be obsessed with her big brother and everything that he does. She absolutely loves it when he comes to give her hugs and kisses and talks to her. I'm sure there will come a day when she doesn't, but for know I love the way that they interact together.
  • Baby C still has beautiful blue eyes and gorgeous red hair, not much red hair however.
  • Her newest trick is to take off her socks and pull her hat off while laughing at me when I tell her to stop.

Oh how we LOVE our baby girl!!!

A Must Read....

I literally could not put this down! I read the entire book from my Kindle app on my iphone. Even though I am cross-eyed, I am doing it again with the second book "Catching Fire." This book is right up there Twilight and Harry Potter.

Officially Homeless...

...and it never felt so good!

We have officially closed/sold our house.....signed, sealed, and delivered!!!!

We never meant to stay in the house for as long as what we did....5 years, but it was such a great house for us! The first night we stayed in the house on air mattresses, Sampson woke us up at 2am running up the stairs, down the stairs, up the stairs, down the stairs...he was just as excited as we were! We brought our first baby here to this house and made incredible memories learning to be first time parents and watching Big C grow from baby, to toddler, to little boy. Baby C followed suit in this house where I spent many nights holding her, looking into her big blue eyes, listening to my husband and first born sleep and feeling that everything was right with the world in those precious minutes.

Dear House,
Thank you for all the great memories you have given us over the last 5 years and keeping my family safe.

I'm sure the new owners will treasure you as much as we have.

Now....it's on to BIGGER things....a house twice the size and we couldn't be more thrilled!!! Here are a couple of pictures just to tease...

The New Casa...

Welcome home Chase family, welcome home.....

Looking in from the front door, formal living/dinning room and looking into the kitchen...more on the lack of kitchen later....
We close on our house today and then work, work, work to get it ready for Big C and Baby C to move in. Before and After pictures will be coming soon....as soon as we get internet and locate everything...OK, so maybe not so soon!

Baby C: 8 months old!!

I can't believe that my baby girl is 8 months old today! 8 months old seems so old, especially when I think that in 4 short months she will be a year old. Baby C is moving and a groovin'! Here are a few of her new 'tricks':
  • 'Walking' forwards, backwards, and sideways in the walker. By far one of her favorite things to do. Since she is getting so good a maneuvering it, she can open cabinets, grab things off of tables and ottomans, run over toes, and trap her bother on the stairs.
  • Baby C gives the sloppiest drooliest kisses ever! You can tell when she is about to give kisses because she will start kicking her legs and grab your face so tight to properly slobber all over you. It is by far one of my most favorite things in the whole wide world.

  • Boy is Baby C a talker! Between Big C and her, there isn't much room for adult conversation in our house!
  • Baby C is wearing size 4 organic diapers, still allergic to everything else.
  • Baby C is still getting breast milk exclusively, with stage 2 baby foods. Her favorite by far are the fruits and sweet potatoes.
  • She loves eating puffs, even though she still doesn't have teeth. She will grab a handful and eat them! We have tried the bitter biscuits with her too but instead of mouthing them, she bites them off and chews!

  • WE have tried a sippy cup with her, but she prefers to drink out of her big brother's cup. SHHH...don't tell him!
  • Baby C still takes a small mid-morning nap and a longer 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon.
  • Lately she has been waking up a few times in the night for someone to put her pacifier in her moth. She doesn't care to look for it on her own...what a diva!

  • She is wearing 9-12 month clothing. She is wearing some of Big C's hand me downs and it is such a flash back to seeing him that little.
  • She is sitting up independently but has no desire to crawl. She will lie on her stomach and push her arms up, but just doesn't care to crawl.
  • Baby C loves to clap for anything and everything. Big C loves it when his sister claps for him.

  • Baby C still has red hair, I mean...what little hair she has is red.
  • Baby C continues to capture our hearts every day!

If you didn't notice her sign....WE ARE MOVING!!!! We have about a week left in our current house, then it is on to our new house! I've been busy with packing and paper work...along with two little ones, teaching, and master's classes. Our life is busy busy, but we feel so darn blessed!
