Big C is 3!

This post is a little over due, but that’s what happens when life gets in the way! Big C turned 3 on December 27th. I make sure that all Christmas decorations are put away on the 26th so that we can properly celebrate his birth. However, this year, I didn’t put up any birthday decorations since his birthday party wasn’t until the weekend. We all woke Big C up singing to him and then he walked downstairs and said, “Mommy, where’s my birfday?” Talk about feeling like the world’s worst mom! I explained to him that his party was that weekend and we would decorate then. I think he was ok with that…

That weekend we had his Toy Story themed birthday party. Everyone came in their western/ cowboy wear. Luckily, our kitchen was put in just 3 days before the party…minus the countertops, dishwasher, microwave, garbage disposal, sink…but really, who needs those!..... so I was able to make all of the food and his 3D Buzz Lightyear space rocket ship cake. I’ll post pictures soon, but for now I wanted to update with what Big C is doing developing.
· Big C can sing the alphabet song and recognize all 26 letters of the alphabet out of order
· Big C can count to 30 and put numbers 1-10 in order
· Still wears a pull up at night (haven’t gone down that road yet) and when napping, however those naps are getting few and far between and almost always wakes up dry
· He is getting more independent by the way, playing by himself more and more and beginning to pretend while playing
· His favorite things to play with are anything with wheels, he loves to ‘read’ books, he loves to run from one door in our house to the other door, and he LOVES to sing “Life is a Highway” at the top of his lungs
· Big C still LOVES to take baths (often we have to turn on the shower to get him out of the bath!
· At his 3 year doctor’s appointment, he was in the 50th % for height and weight
· He loves to “get in a stance” and tackle
· He is still a picky eater, however he will eat some new foods now that he didn’t in the past: grilled cheese sandwiches, craisins, spaghetti
· Favorite color: red, brown, white; Favorite food: cinnamon rolls; Favorite number 4 or 7; Favorite movies: Toy Story or Cars or Horton; Favorite TV shows: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse or Timmy Time

We are so very proud of Big C and we love him with all our hearts!
