Extreme Couponing Thoughts

Have you seen TLC's newest show?

If not, let me give you the quick summary....picture going to your local grocery story and spending 3 hours shopping for groceries...which include 64 bottles of mustard for example...then spending 5 hours checking out your $1000.00 order but only paying $5.00 for it after you enter all of our coupons.....That in a nut shell is Extreme Couponing. I am fixated on this show, but can't decide if it is fixation in admiration or horror. I mean, saving 98% on your grocery bill...ADMIRATION... Taking your toddler and pregnant friend dumpster diving for coupons....



HORROR!!!

Being able to donate almost 300lbs of food to a local food pantry....ADMIRATION!!







Having a stockpile that takes up all of the room in your house, feeding you family lots of processed foods, and wasting food....HORROR!!


The jury is still out for me...what is your verdict on Extreme Couponing?

I have never been more excited for a Monday to be over with than I am today! Tonight....BIG night of TV watching!

First of all, the season finale of The Secret Life of the American Teenager starts my evening off.

That's right....GREEK IS BACK!!! Tonight begins the season premiere of Greek....

Hello Pot, It's the Kettle

I have never written about the 'Octomom' because, well, frankly....I don't agree with what she did and I feel so sorry for all of the children. However....a piece of news caught my attention and I just shook my head in disbelief. I'll pass on the info...but want to hear your thoughts!

Nadya Suleman finally got what we all suspected that she wanted.....a reality show. She wants her show to chart the growth and development of her children and to educate people on preemies.

After getting her show, she has stated that she feels that Jon and Kate have "made a mistake by allowing (their reality show) to be exploitative and invasive in their kids' lives."

Hmm...does anyone else find this ironic?

By the way...Kate's body looks great...even if she did have some cosmetic surgical help...

More Drama

More and more drama/rumors/gossip...call it what you will...but more STUFF about the Gosselin family is coming out of the closet.

But first...seriously Kate? I don't think that they are a struggling family of 10 any more...looks like Mrs. Gosselin is doing just fine...what happened? *She is seen here with her bodyguard who she allegedly had the affair with.

Aww...these days are long gone.....

I wonder if Jon Gosselin ever feels like this?


Driving to work today, I heard on the radio that Uncle Kevin and Aunt Jodi...(remember them?) have began to 'spill their beans' and talk about the Gosselin couple and also shed some light on while they have been absent from the show. Uncle Kevin has said that he knew of the marriage problems 6 months ago and Aunt Jodi has stated that Kate brought a contract to Jon that outlined for him his roll. He can a) have girlfriends b) live separately from them c) however he must be present for all of the filming for their show and keep it all a secret. I also heard this on Entertainment Tonight when I was working out last night....no falling off machines last night!

Check it out and let me know what you think...I've watched most of the video clips and my head is....currently undecided on what I think.

Oh! I almost forgot!! Aunt Jodi's sister is speaking out too...however this is in form of a blog. Her blot title is "Truth Breeds Hatred"...can you guess how she feels about the whole situation?

More and more drama and rumors are starting to become public surrounding the Gosselin couple stars of Jon and Kate Plus 8. After rumors, pictures, and yes, even a VIDEO, of the male member of the couple, Jon, with the alleged 'home wrecker' (a 23 yr. old school teacher, Deanna) a new rumor is circulating that he wasn't the only one unfaithful in their marriage.





Was it retaliation? Is it even true? Who knows?! However, that won't stop rumors that Kate Gosselin had an alleged affair with her bodyguard, Steve.

PEOPLE magazine will have an article on it in the issue that hits newstands (or WalMart stands if you're like me) on Friday.

New season of Jon and Kate Pluse 8 is starting on Monday, May 25th at 9/8 central.

Confession.

I have a subscription to a celebrity smut magazine.


I've had this subscription for three years.


I look forward each week to my magazine.


I'm not ashamed to admit it.


Yes, I do get made fun of by various friends/relatives that visit our house for owning a subscription. However, after laying eyes on the magazine, they all pick it up and begin reading through it claiming that they need to get "updated" by ways of MY SUBSCRIPTION!! With eye catching, thought provoking front page covers like....

How do you not pick it up and flip through?! Today I received my weekly subscription and as soon as Big C went to sleep for the night, I sat down and began my ritual of reading it from coverith to coverith. Halfway through I came across a small article on everyones' favorite family of 10 (+2 dogs) the Gosselins. The small one paragraph article claimed that Jon admits to having marital problems, but also swears to never cheating on Kate. The family has an article in Ladies' Home Journal magazine's May issue.

After I little more researching (or stalking...whatev..) online, I was able to find the gist of the article. (Yes, I would have went and bought it if this was not found!)

Here are some excerpts from the interview -

On the state of their marriage

Jon: I am not perfect. This struggle has definitely put some tension in our marriage. But I never cheated on Kate. Kate and I are together.

About how Jon saw his future

Jon: I always thought I’d be, like, 54 years old and marry a 19-year-old or something.

About the loss of privacy

Kate: The fact that we are recognized, screamed at, mobbed and so often approached when we’re together does make life difficult.

Jon: Kate and I maybe have 10 minutes together while we’re cleaning up the kitchen, but otherwise it’s the kids and the show and meeting and, well, see you next Christmas, Kate.

About their roles as parents

Jon: It’s a tough thing, breaking this stereotype that you’re worthless if you’re a stay-at-home parent. People still define one another by their careers… Kate’s a type A personality, and I’m a giver.

About their fans

Kate: I don’t get it. I’m just a mom who’s doing her best – not unlike moms everywhere. I just happen to have a few more kids than the average.

Their advice for Octomom Nadya Suleman

Kate: Just take one day at a time, accept a lot of help and try to use the little moments that arise to connect with each kid.

About life pre-sextuplets

Kate: I wouldn’t return to those days. We think of the TV show as our family job, one that lets us stay home together.

It's NOT 'GREEK' to me!

I totally loved the season premiere of GREEK!! (My husband watched it with me making it even better!) I just lose myself in the episode reminiscing about my own college/sorority days.



One of my favorite parts is when Cappie (Scott Michael Foster) is recapping what he did over summer break and in between napping and boozing, he said that he got caught up on all of the Jon and Kate Plus 8 videos and that he is fascinated by how they make it all work...totally love the real life references to shows that I am personally obsessed with! (Plus you just gotta know the character Cappie to really appreciate the comment.) And let's face it...... he isn't bad looking either!

Any one who watched it...I have a question. How long will Frannie and Evan last? He has some morals...when is he going to get sick of paying her rent bill for the knew "IKI" sorority?

Totally Guilty.....

...of loving ABC Family Channel! One of my favorite weekly indulgences is their show GREEK (new season starting March 30th at 8:00). For anyone who misses the days of being in their sorority/fraternity, this show is for you! For the hour that I watch it am time warped back into my college days at the good 'ole Zeta house. I love the drama that surrounds the ZBZ house and the boy drama that ensures in every episode. I'm so excited for the new season...tivo is already set!!!

Jon and Kate Plus 8: Season 5?

Here are my personal opinions about the season finale show....

• I do not think that they are having any marital problems.
  
• I do think that there will be a season 5 show solely because Kate stated that she "loves" being able to work from home and enjoys doing all of the PR things for the show and books.

• There will be a season 5 if not for having to pay for their $1.4 million house...not to mention heating/ cooling the house!! Not to mention just living in general.
  

• Jon is having a hard time with people knowing who he is. He said that he has trouble because people see him only as "Jon and Kate Plus 8" rather than just Jon Gosselin who happens to have 8 kids.
• Jon was definitely out "partying" it up while he was staying with his Mom to help her foot. However, name one parent that doesn't like to go out and let off some steam every now and then.
  

If there will be a season 5...you can bet that my Tivo will be set!

Reality TV Rumor Mill

Jon and Kate Plus 8

Have you heard this?! Trouble in 'hectic' paradise? Rumor has it that their marriage is in trouble. Apparently he was staying with his mother to help her with a foot injury, but was seen out bar hoping multiple times. He is even rumored to have been 'making out' with girls from the local college's Volleyball team. In Touch magazine reports that he is back home and that Kate is embarrassed by his behavior but can't address it due to fans. Pictures that are circulating are reportedly just pictures with fans, nothing more. However, if you have seen the previews for the season finale next Monday something is up. Kate infers that she and Jon are "on different paths." Wonder that could mean....I'll definitely be watching! Any thoughts on this?



Dancing with the Stars

So, with all of the St. Patrick's Day festivities.....not to mention that it was BEAUTIFUL last night and Curt and I enjoyed an evening out doors away from the TV....I totally forgot about my new obsession...Dancing with the Stars! I must set my tivo! Here is what I found out from online this morning.

Belinda Carlisle was the first 'star' to be eliminated. In my opinion...she was not the worst, but probably just didn't have a huge fan base.

Rumor has it that dancing partners Gilles Marini, nude neighbor from Sex in the City: The Movie, and Cheryl Burke are in a secret romance. It seems to me that Cheryl Burke is always surrounded by these rumors, but they are never true. Gilles has laughed off these falsities. He is happily married with two children. His wife is apparently "laughing her butt off" at this rumor. News flash people...just because they dance sexy does not mean that there is anything going on. Ever hear of acting?!
