DIY: New Obsession #5638247

I love putting Big C and Baby C in matching shirts, but I don't like having to spend time looking for the ones that I want, spending the $$$ and then waiting for them to be delivered.  I decided I would try to make my own shirts.  I wanted shirts for them to wear during the holidays that were cute, but also comfortable.    I first made a "test" shirt for Baby C...a zebra L.

Since that shirt was successful, on to the Halloween shirts.    Matching pumpkins with zebra bats, along with their initials, of course!

Halloween...SUCCESS! On to Thanksgiving shirts!  I created a Thankful turkey with color feathers and a zebra print pilgrim hat, wich of course, their initials.

For their Christmas shirts, I kept it simple, just ornaments with their initials on them.

Making the shirts have been so cost efficient and fun!  I decided to make Big C's shirt for his 4th ...gulp...birthday.  He choose his own birthday them and colors...here is a hint of his birthday theme!

Its beginning to SMELL alot like Christmas!

Big C and I (along with minimal help from Baby C)  made Christmas ornaments this year for our family and friends.  The ornaments are not only easy to make and kid friendly, but they smell amazing!    All you need is:

3 cups of cinnamon                               and                     3 cups of applesauce
**Check out those eyelashes!**

Mix together into a dough-like-substance and roll out.  We used cookie cutters to create our ornaments into shapes of objects you would typically see during the holiday season: candy canes, gingerbread men (and women), stockings, bells, and stars.  We laid them out on  a cookie sheet and poked a hole in each.

Once they were mostly dried,  Big C choose a colored ribbon for each to be able to hang from their tree.

They did take a couple of day to dry all the way, but ever since making them out house smells like cinnamon...delicious!!

Big C can't wait to pass out his ornaments to all of our family and friends...if only we can keep Baby C from wanting to eat them!

Every Day is Father's Day!

So...I've been MIA the past week....but with good reason! Curt had knee surgery about a week and a half ago, which fell during my last week of school...which is busy to say the least. With him out for count, finishing up school, and Big C and Baby C GETTING INTO EVERYTHING, my time has been rather full. Good news, Curt is on the mend and is able to watch the tornado that is our daughter while I am able to get some things done...blogging being one of them!

Since his surgery was 2 days before Father's Day this year, we decided to celebrate early since he is usually pretty doped up after his surgery for a few days. There is no question about how much these two little ones love their Daddy!

He won't like that I posted these, but it is more so for my memory and for the kids to look back on them. This was Curt the day after his surgery. He basically stayed in this position for about a week. Big C was very concerned about him and lined up all of his trucks to keep an eye on him to help him feel better.

Someone had some sympathy pains....however, he only stayed like this for about 5 minutes, then he was walking around on his 'crutches'...which are really paint stir sticks!

They sure are a pair, huh?
Ok...off to get Baby C. She seems to feel the need to climb the stairs in our home about 10,000 times a day, whether we are present to help her not!

Almost Wordless Wednesday

This weekend was spent in water filled fun at Big Splash Adventure! I HIGHLY recommend it for kids of all ages....we had age range from 16 months to 50 years and everyone was sad to leave!

"When can we go to the water park?"

...5 minutes later..."LET"S GO!!"

Welcome to Big Splash Adventure!!

Happy Birthday Grammy!!

Sunday was this beautiful and amazing woman's birthday...

Grammy is the best role model for a mother, teacher, friend, and etc. that a woman could ask for. She showers her whole family with love and makes everyone feel so special. We were so happy to be able to make her feel as special on her birthday as she makes us feel year round!

The Grandkids LOVE spending any time with Grammy. One of their favorite things to do is snuggle on the couch under blankets and watch movies with popcorn. Now....they will get to do it in style!

Everything always tastes better when Grammy makes it...popcorn included! Each of the grandkids will be able to match Grammy with their own popcorn buckets for those special movie nights!

Happy Birthday Grammy!!! We love, love, love you!!!!
